REVIEW! OCC Lip Tar in Electric Grandma!

For those of you who haven't read my previous post, I have fallen head over heels for these guys. I went from having zero of these to 11 in just one week! I will be reviewing all of the ones that I have and I'm always looking for more of course, so please subscribe for swatches, reviews and all that glitters!

I can totally understand why they call this color "Electric Grandma." It's such a bright vintage Coral shade similar to the colors that were popular in the 50's and 60's. This is a beautiful bright coral that's somewhat shimmery. It applies nicely and the best thing about this product is that it's going to last so freaking loooong! You only need a very tiny amount to get a nice full opaque coat on your lips with a brush.

What I've noticed about the lip tars is that they feather off of the lips terribly! I actually use a lip primer or the Elf Lip Lock Pencil and it has made an incredible difference for me. So with that being said, I do love these tars but not by themselves...

The product formula is nice and smooth, it's opaque and it's vegan and cruelty free. The price point on these seems a bit extreme, until you actually use the product--a tiny teeny amount is needed, so this is an amazing value considering how much you get in that tube!

If you are unsure if the product is worth the hype, I would suggest finding someone to sell you a sample or two. I ended up getting a sample of a deep metallic blue one called Technopagan, and while I loved the product, it's not a shade I'd wear out in public often...meaning that spending the money on that particular shade would have been a waste for me personally.

On to the beautiful beautiful swatches!:

Would you wear OCC's Electric Grandma? Have you tried any of the OCC products?

Urban Decay's Vice 3 Review and Swatches!

I was very lucky to have the chance to own the new Urban Decay Vice 3 palette! I like it, however I feel that the formula of the shadows this time around aren't as pigmented as the previous Vice palettes. I feel weird saying that, because it's Urban Decay and they have such a name for themselves, you know? With primer and patience though, this palette is a nice gem in my collection. In fact, I've used this one more in the past few weeks than I have any of the other Vice palettes that I own. I am in LOVE with the nude shades in this one! I feel this one has more natural/nude look possibilities than the previous ones, and for those of you who prefer a bit of color and wear more natural looks daily, this one will work out very well for you!

Let's get to the Nitty Gritty, shall we?

PACKAGING:

Cute. So freaking adorable. However, I HATE how I leave fingerprints all over it. It attracts smudges like moths to a flame and looks dirty because of the amount of fingerprints. That I'm not fond of.

This actually comes with a bag. IT'S AWESOME. This is an amazing idea, and I feel that they should keep doing this from now on. You've set our standards very high, Urban Decay. You've won us over with this extra gift of amazingness. YOU CAN NEVER GO BACK.

BOX:

Previews the shades of course, reminds you that this is "Urban Decay, Beauty with an Edge."

SWATCHES:

TOP (FIRST) ROW:
Truth, Dragon, Vanity, Alien, Last Sin

SECOND ROW:
Undone, Freeze, Lucky, Alchemy, Angel

THIRD ROW:
Downfall, Heroine, Reign, Bondage, Defy

FOURTH ROW:
DTF, Brokedown, Bobby  Dazzle, Sonic, Revolver

Overall I love this palette. There's enough nude/light shades for those who are comfortable not rubbing a shit-ton of color on their face, then there's enough colors for those of us who wear brights on a daily basis. They changed the color of Bobby Dazzle, which used to be a pale nude with glitter...at least in the full sized one that I own from the Stardust Collection. This one is white, with glitter. That kinda broke my heart. I do find myself mixing Bobby Dazzle with Truth to give it a more nude beige-ish/pink color instead of just white. I enjoy the amount of nudes in this one paired with the red, blues and green shade quite a bit. I use Defy on a daily basis as a crease shade, and Last Sin is my go to lid color now. What do you guys think of the palette? Is it a go or a pass?

Review: OCC Lip Tar in Zhora!

First of all--I'm a total noob when it comes to these lip tar thingies. I went from owning none to 11 in one week flat...they are THAT awesome! Being an olive skinned gal has it's downsides though--most of the colors that I own are not exactly great on me. However, I have fallen head over heels for Zhora! It's a beautiful muted peach shade with tiny micro glitters that are peach and pink. When applied heavily, I feel the glitters are lost though, so I barely use any of this product at all because I really do enjoy a peek-a-boo of tiny coral and pink shimmer. The staying power is rediculous. I totally love the fact that I hardly have to reapply it throughout my shift at work, and it's a nice lightweight product that isn't heavy or tacky. I'm just not a gloss kinda gal, but these feel different than your typical gloss. When they color does begin to fade, it leaves behind super cute sparkles. I then apply a clear balm on top of my lips to hydrate and it looks adorable. OCC is also vegan and cruelty free, which is a pretty nice thing. Seriously, these have to be good if I end up going from 0-to-11 in 7 days flat. On to the swatches!

I can't wait to swatch the rest of the shades!!!

Best Elf Blushes!

These are my personal fave Elf blushes of all time. There are a few that I haven't tried yet--such as the Blush quads that just came out, (I hear that they are pretty awesome!) and this video is of my own personal opinion.

Spring Survival: 4 Coral Lippies You Need To Try!

I am SO happy that the weather in Missouri is FINALLY starting to get warmer! In pure joy, I frolicked straight to my Lipstick Drawer. (Yeah, I actually have a dresser drawer full of nothing but lipsticks) and I went through all of them to find ones for Spring to keep on my vanity top. I have about 50 lippies that I want to blog about, but decided that if I did it all at once, it'd take not only forever to type, but also forever for you guys to read, ha ha ha. Hence why I'm going to do a handful at a time with pictures and swatches and descriptions of the colors to help you decide if maybe one, two or even more will work for you! Now I will be blogging about High-end, Low-end, Mid-end...lipsticks, lip glosses, butters, balms, etc. EVERYTHING LIPS for your viewing pleasure. So, let's start!

POP BEAUTY POUTY POP CRAYON in CORAL CRUSH:

This bright orangey-pink shade is gorgeous for Spring. It's matte with a bit of a glossy finish. The coverage can be buildable, but for the most part, it's very sheer. It's a very thin product and smells minty. The color transfers a bit lighter than it looks like it would, but like I mentioned before: The coverage is buildable.

ELF LIP BALM TINT in PEACH

This Lip Balm smells nice, tastes nice and is a matte shade, very sheer and SUPER glossy. It's sheer enough to leave a nice natural looking tint, but wouldn't be buildable.

MAYBELLINE CARIBBEAN CORAL LUSTER

This shade is as Coral as the vintage lipsticks you'd find in your Grandmother's purse. It's a very vintage coral that's beautifuly matte-and the coverage is Fair. It still may seem a tad sheer, but it is buildable. There is a small gloss finish to this one.

HARD CANDY VISIBLY WET SHOCKINGLY GLOSSY LIP PENCIL in PRECIOUS

If you are looking for a bright lip gloss, this one's for you. It's more orange than pink in color, and it has a thin and light texture. It's sheer, but pigmented enough to show up orange with a few swipes. This has a medium glossy finish, and it's matte.

The New Elf Smudge Pots Review and Swatches!

Okay, first off--I was told by a friend that these were VERY similar to the Maybelline Color Tattoos, and I tried so hard to pretend that I never heard that because I wanted to enjoy them for what they were. I do own a few of the Color Tattoos, and yes, these are VERY similar. A few are more sheer than the others, so I will describe each and every single one to you guys so that you will know all of the info on these awesome little pots of amazingness!

The Facts:

-These held up SO WELL with the Elf Glitter Primer. I have worn all of them but one for a full 9 hour shift at work, and some of these are so pigmented that I also use them as eyeliner.

-These pots work better with a primer of course.

-All of these work well as a base eyeshadow and will keep your shadow on for hours longer than with primer alone.

-Some of these are not very pigmented, so I wouldn't suggest wearing them alone UNLESS you are going for a sheer and shimmery look. (I'll let you know which ones are which)

Now for the individual pictures and shades:

Elf Smudge Pot in Ain't That Sweet

Ain't That Sweet is a beautiful shade of Iridescent Pink. It is very sheer and works far better as a base for an eyeshadow than a solid color by itself. However, if you are looking for a pretty sheer shade to sweep across your lids, this one is absolutely pretty. This shade will not really work as an eyeliner.

Elf Smudge Pot in Cruisin Chic

Cruisin Chic is one absolute fave of the line. It's pigmented, works as a base but shows well enough on it'd own to be sued as an eyeshadow AND a liner. Boom shaka-laka! This is a really pretty taupe-gold shade and I do highly recommend it! (This shade works WONDERS for the Urban Decay Naked Palettes!)

Elf Smudge Pot in Pearls Of Wisdom

This one is sparkly and though it is still very sheer, it actually has more pigmentation than the pink one. (Ain't That Sweet) This looks awesome as a color for the inner corner of your eyelid, and works wonderfully as a base. I use this as a highlight color as well for the brow bone. You can use it for a sweep of shimmer, and it will show up, but it's still very sheer. Used over a white primer though, I bet it'd look pretty awesome! I do not think it will work as an eyeliner, but if you have darker skin, I bet it would show up more for you than I.

Elf Smudge Pot in Poppin Party

Poppin Party works beautifully as a base, eyeliner and eyeshadow! This one is so pretty and it does remind me of one of Elf's Cream Eyeliners. This one is worth getting for sure!

Elf Smudge Pot in Back to Basics

Back to basics is a lovely shade that works as a base, eyeliner and sweep of color. This one is just as pretty as Cruisin Chic, and though they look somewhat alike in these photos, they are in fact quite different. This one is a muted bronzey/alloy like shade with a hint of gold.

Elf Smudge Pot in Brownie Points

Brownie Points is prolly one of the prettiest shades as well. I use this as an eyeliner more than anything, but it's so pigmented that it can be used as a base and as an eyeshadow. It's a bronze metallic shade that you will def love having in your arsenal.

Elf Smudge Pot in Gotta Glow

Gotta Glow is gorgeous, but doesn't work well as an eyeliner. It does however, look amazing as a highlight on darker skin, and it is a nice sweep of sheer color.

Elf Smudge Pot in Hit The Town

Hit the Town is somewhat sheer. It works awesome as a base, and if you are going for a sweep of silver, then this is for you. I did like it when I paired it with Ain't That Sweet, and I had gotten compliments when I did so. It's up to you, It will work as an eyeliner as well, but it's not as opaque as the others that do.

Elf Smudge Pot in Ocean Bound

Ocean Bound is a really pretty blue shade that works as an eyeliner, a base, and an eyeshadow. VERY pretty!

From Left to Right: Ain't That Sweet, Pearls of Wisdom, Ocean bound, Gotta Glow, Brownie Points, Back to Basics
From left to Right: Cruisin Chic, Poppin Party, Hit The Town

This picture is to give you an idea of which ones were super pigmented and which ones were not.

Overall, I would buy these again. Some are more pigmented than others, and that suits me well as I will use them for liners, shadow and bases. :) I hope that you have found this helpful!
